The White Lotus cast dominated the Emmy Awards red carpet this year; Leslie Bibb wore bold blue eyeshadow, Walton Goggins donned snake-themed accessories in a nod to his character, and Aimee Lou Wood channelled classic old Hollywood with her hair.

Aimee was nominated for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her role, so celebrity hair stylist, Gareth Bromell, styled her hair with an iconic, glamorous bombshell in mind: Brigitte Bardot.

The hairstylist was inspired by the Bardot blowout’s volume, soft waves, and an allure that never fades, he explained via Instagram. But our favourite detail of the look had to be the collection of affordable products from KMS he used to bring the timeless style to life.

Ahead, Aimee’s hairstylist breaks down the surprisingly affordable and simple look for fans to recreate at home.

The pre-styling prep

To prep Aimee’s hair, Gareth washed her strands with the KMS Hair Moist Repair Shampoo ($26.95 from Oz Hair & Beauty) and Conditioner ($24.95 from Oz Hair & Beauty).

Then he followed up with the KMS Hair Thermashape Quick Blow Dry Spray ($24.95 from Oz Hair & Beauty) and KMS Hair Addpower Thickening Spray ($25.95 from Oz Hair & Beauty), distributing the products from the roots of her hair down to the ends.

The styling tools

For an instant lift, Gareth blowdried Aimee’s hair upside down using the Varis SB2 Dryer ($245 from The Base Hair Lab). Then he used the dryer and the Varis Large Boar Brush ($45 from The Base Hair Lab) to add volume through the crown of her hair.

The finishing products

To finish the look, Gareth added more texture and volume, and sprayed the hair all over with the KMS Hair Hair Play Dry Texture Spray ($25.95 from Oz Hair & Beauty).

Then he teased the hair at the crown of her head a little, and smoothed the top of the hair, softly brushing out her curtain bangs before locking in the look with the KMS Hair Hair Stay Firm Finishing Hairspray ($39.95 from Hairhouse).
