The end of summer can often feel flat. But instead of dwelling on the negatives, we’re all about focusing on the advantages of autumn; like retiring your razor, embracing sweater weather with full force, and (our personal favourite) switching your perfume to something with a little more kick.
So, as the weather cools, why not reflect the change with a season-appropriate scent swap? And seeing as autumn serves as the season of spice, it’s the perfect time to embrace heady fragrances featuring moody notes of sandalwood, vetiver and musk — delicious.
The best autumnal fragrances…
MOR Botanicals Saffron Spice + Cardamom

You say: Enjoy as this unique blend of punchy saffron and cardamon evolves into rich middle notes of leather and creamy vanilla. Oh, but we’re not done. The journey comes to completion as it sinks into the skin, releasing subtle hints of vetiver and sandalwood.
We say: “It is a lovely warm fragrance which showcases the saffron and cardamom with undertones of vanilla and sandalwood. I love the simplicity of the packaging and the bright yellow colour of the box and label which is a perfect match for the autumnal leaves at the moment.” – Saje

Yves Saint Laurent Libre Eau De Parfum

We say: Both suave and sensual, this Yves Saint Laurent icon contains orange blossom flower and mandarin essence, plus vetiver and tonka, striking the perfect balance between masculine and feminine.
You say: “Perfect for the cooler months and allows you to wear heavier scents with confidence! You are immediately hit with mandarin essence, and easily pick up the lavender and bergamot, but it’s the residual cedarwood and Madagascan vanilla that keep the fragrance lingering for hours.” – Varonte

What is your go-to autumn fragrance? Have you tried any of these?
Some absolutely fabulous perfumes wouldn't mind trying CLINIQUE Aromatics Elixir Eau de Toilette and Sonia Washburn SYDNEY Eau de Parfum – Cedar, Sandalwood & Bourbon Vanilla quite an amazing mixture of scents.
It sounds really nice but I am not keen on vanilla in a scent
The first one “might” suit me. I love Autumn but it can get a bit chilly
I like cozy and orientals , perfect for autumn. Will go and sniff Lush sandalwood / oud combo (that is if I manage to survive in store to do so before air in there burns my eyes out). Sounds very rich… Perhaps good for layering.
Yes I love oriental and musky scents
Sonia Washburn Sydney sounds like something I'd like.
I can't believe it's autumn! I enjoy the beautiful leaves and crisp, cool weather so long as it doesn't get too cold. Warm, rich fragrances are nice during this time like YSL black opium and Paco Rabanne Olympea
That Sonia Washburn one up first sounds sooooo great!
The Sonia Washburn one sounds excellent.
I’ve never owned any of these, but I think I’ve sampled most of them. I love the Michael Kors and the Clinique ones. Not sure if I’d buy them though, I’m quite happy with my long time favourites Chloe, Nuxe and The Body Shop White Musk.
These scents sound perfect for autumn. I am keen to spray some on.
yes they all sound so nice
This is perfect for autumn
Ooh, I want to sniff all of these perfumes!
I have not tried any of these but would like to.
I see that the gallery has been updated. I love the cooler weather & the heavier scents that go with it.
I don’t change my perfumes for the season. I do change them on how I’m feeling.
I'm loving the sound of the Estée Lauder perfume,
I have opium black which I think is quite atumn. I also like vanilla scent for late autumn ad winter
I need to try that Lush perfume.
I haven’t worn Clinique’s Aromatics in years. I loved this in my 20’s. Such an uplifting scent!
I'd love to add one or two of these to my collection.
I sadly think Body Shop don't sell Red Musk anymore which is sad.
I just love looking at perfumes!
yummy
Golly I would love to have a whiff of all of these, I have not had the pleasure of trying any of them.
Must try some of these scents out!
ooohhh….cinnabar sounds yummy.
I'd love to try some of Lush's fragrances, but my collection is overflowing so I need to work through what I have first…
These all put me in mind of winter.
Perfumes, ah so nice to smell them, but my hay fever stops me using them. What a pity
I love the perfume!
A good selection. It would be nice to sample some of these.
My all time favourite is the original Opium, which is perfect for this time of year.
I didn't know you could still buy Magie Noire! *Makes a mental note to check out the Lancome counter at the next visit to a department store*
Perfect scents to try.
Perfect scents to try.
Perfect scents to try.
These sound lovely and spicy
Yes a bit different to the usual citris?
Some nice sounding scent combinations amongst these. I like Estee Lauder fragrances so I'd try Cinnabar first though the Lush one also intrigues me.
Would be nice to see featured some niche perfumes. The perfume world out there is so interesting and so many (unique fab houses and makers) to discover!
I don't choose perfume based on the season because I need a strong perfume all the time due to my skin chemistry.
I love Lush products as they last long and smell divine.I think I will try this perfume.
Thanks 2663anne I too want to give this perfume a go.
Estee Lauder Cinnabar looks nice hope its not too expensive.
I like more sweet fragrances in the colder days.
Something dense. Noir de noir, black orchid, both TF.
I love MOR’s Bergamot and Blackcurrant.
I haven’t tried any of these but WOW they sound lovely
I don’t have a fragrance for each season. I just pick one each day.
Some of these sound lovely and worth a sniff, I’ve tried Libre but it did’nt rock my world.
This one sounds nice. MOR Botanicals Saffron Spice + Cardamom and different . Like the bottle
I want to try the YSL perfume!
Yes I have and love Yves Saint Laurent Libre Eau De Parfum.
