Sewing and craft projects !

Hi everyone ! From chatting to some very clever and lovely ladies in the forum … It’s been suggested that we could use a ‘share your project ‘ thread.
Today I bought a sewing machine in attempts to get back into it! I am currently attempting to make a wrap around dress – with no zip required!! Haha
So please feel free to share your craft projects – sewing or not !

@Lisa359: I keep an extensive wishlist at Spotlight (99+ items!), so I check periodically to see what’s on sale. Sewing machine needles & thread are always on my list as I constantly need those.

    Nice one@Misfortune8. I don’t know if I have a Lincraft near me.

I just checked their website & there are no Lincraft stores in WA, SA or NT.

All we really have over here is Spotlight, They are’nt as good as they used to be either, half of their stores are full of homewares now.

I thought I hadn’t seen their store in a few years.

If any home sewers & crafters are Lincraft members, check your inboxes for a free $10 voucher sent on Monday 14 October. There’s no minimum spend, so I’m going out today to grab $10 worth of FREE STUFF!

The voucher expires Sunday 20 October.

It’s funny how people always say ” I don’t have the patience” Because I don’t consider myself a patient person at all, and I’ve done a lot of tedious crafts that take time and fiddling around a lot. I never considered the patience aspect of it.

Fair comment Lisa. I`m noted for my patience and have all the patience in the world for most things so perhaps it`s just that I don`t have any interest in doing crafts now.

My time is spent doing family history research and writing little stories about my ancestors. I`ve also been organising thousands and thousands of photos I`ve accumulated over 45 years (since the day I met my husband). The loose ones I`ve been categorising into photo albums, and I`ve been designing photo books for the the digital ones. It`s a long tedious process but so satisfying.

We seem to have quite a few very talented members.

These days I don’t have the patience for anything like this but back in the olden days, like 40 years ago, I used to crochet, knit and make my own clothes but now just taking up a hem sends me into a tizzy.

I just had a look at the pieces you posted yesterday, Rivet, wow you’re very talented. I don’t have the patience, unfortunately!

Okay, since I’ve posted this on the ‘gram, I’ll post it here.

You lot are so amazing!! Very inspiring, maybe I can take this up when I am on mat leave but I don’t own a sewing machine!

You’ve only been crocheting since 2019? You are a very fast learner.

I did it as a kid, but picked it up again 2 years ago. I have a lot of “free time” on my hands (usually because I’m incapacitated), so doing something other than lying in bed and playing on my phone keeps me busy.

I’ve done needlepoint and knitting (that one, not so great), so crochet was the natural progression, and I picked it up very fast. Mostly because I watched video tutorials, those helped a lot.
