ModelCo brand

I had read some articles recently about ModelCo promoting themselves as Australian made. Vegan. Cruelty-free. So I checked out their huge POS stand in Chemist Warehouse.
When I read the labels it actually says: Australian owned. Australian designed. Made in China. 🙁 I was disappointed.

    I keep getting moderated.

NbN eye primer is made in Australia; their mineral powders are made in Australia from local & imported ingredients; lipgloss is made in Canada; lipstick is made in USA; brushes are made in China.

@Lawliet: my reply will appear in a few days, I hope.

I’ve used other brands made in Belgium (L’Oréal, Garnier, essence), so I know they have a beauty manufacturing industry.

I noticed a similar thing with Nude by Nature too. It’s supposed to be an Aussie brand but some their products say “Made in U.S.A” and something about being located in Brussels??

Would be nice to find some brands that are ACTUALLY made, owned and located here.

I agree, @Lawliet! I make a point of stating the country of origin in my reviews, because that’s something I turn packets upside down in the shop aisle trying to discover.

I haven’t used an NbN product from Brussels, but I know of other beauty brands produced in Belgium (L’Oréal & essence), so that’s not surprising.

My post keeps disappearing, so I have to make multiple replies.

I bought some MCobeauty which was half priced at Woolies and always confuse with with this one. They are the same but only some are Australian so you need to read the packaging .

I’ll have to look at more of their products next time to see which ones are Australian made

@Cityglenda, that’s the same for many Aussie-owned brands, e.g. Manicare, Lady Jayne, Nude by Nature, & Skin Physics, to name but a few.
