Winners announced in Sequim karaoke contest

The city is now accepting donations and sponsorships for the 2017 Music in the Park program.

SEQUIM — Gary “G-Man” Ristick won first place in the city of Sequim’s fifth annual Karaoke Idol contest.

Ristick won the Aug. 23 contest with his versions of “Be My Baby Tonight” and “Working for the Weekend.”

Jessica Tanksley won second place and Yvonne Craig won third in the competition.

The contest was part of the 2016 Music in the Park program.

Fourteen performers competed for the title.

Judges were Mayor Dennis Smith, Councilwoman Candace Pratt, Arts Commission Chair Sharon Delabarre and Joe Irvin, assistant to the city manager.

The presenting sponsor was AirFlo Heating; M&M sponsors include Brokers Group Real Estate Professionals, Jarmuth Electric, Nikola Engineering and 7 Cedars Casino; and Friends of M&M are Sofie’s Florist, John and Renee Jones, and Paul Wentink.

The city is accepting donations and sponsorships for the 2017 Music in the Park program.
