PORT ANGELES — There will be a reception for the opening of “Fiber on the Strait” from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Field Arts & Events Hall, 201 W. Front St., Port Angeles.
The exhibit, which opens Friday, will include wearable art, art quilts, textile and felted sculptures, mixed media and note cards created by members of Peninsula Fiber Arts.
Most of the more than 100 pieces on display will be available for purchase.
The exhibit will showcase the work of more than 30 artists from Port Angeles, Port Hadlock, Port Ludlow, Port Townsend, Sequim and Bainbridge Island.
Several of the exhibitors are scheduled to attend the reception to discuss their work.
Participating artists include: Cyndy Bratz, Leslie Dickinson, Caryl Fallert-Gentry, Sue Gale, Bess Jennings, Sandee Johnson, Annie Karl, Kindy Kemp, Cynthia LeRouge, Lynne Elann Morrow, Debra E. Olson, Susan Sawatzky, Cathie Wier and Erika Wurm of Port Townsend; Terri Wolf of Port Ludlow; Mary Tyler and Larkin Van Horn of Port Hadlock; Lora Armstrong, Linda Carlson, Anne Davies, ZeeLinda Dissinger, Liisa Fagerlund, Lynn Gilles, Susan Melka and Marla Varner of Sequim; Evette Allerdings, Shari Beals, MarySue French, Michelle Johnson and Merrie Jo Schroeder of Port Angeles; and Donna Lee Dowdney of Bainbridge Island.
“Fiber on the Strait” will be on display in the Laura Cooksey Gallery at Field Hall from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays through Oct. 25.
Peninsula Fiber Artists is will exhibit “Salish Seasons” from noon to 5 p.m. Fridays through Sundays until Oct. 26 in the Meadery Tasting Room at Wilderbee Farm, 223 Cook Ave. Ext., Port Townsend.
