PORT TOWNSEND — Northwind Art’s year-long exhibition of artists around the region is open for applications, with a link to the online entry form at NorthwindArt.org.
Three cohorts of 10 to 12 artists each will be invited to exhibit their work during three periods in 2026. The first round will be from Jan. 26 to May 11, the second round from May 14 to Sept. 7 and the final group from Sept. 10 to Jan. 4.
The venue will be Northwind’s Jeanette Best Gallery, 701 Water St. in downtown Port Townsend.
Emerging and established artists are encouraged to enter “Showcase 2026.” The deadline to apply is Oct. 19. All applications must be made through the online portal accessible from theorganization’s website.
Artists will be chosen by a panel of Northwind Art curators — three Northwind Art gallery staff members and local artists Anne Schneider and Suzanne Lamon. They will judge the quality, professionalism and sales potential of the work.
Final artist selections will reflect a variety of media, techniques and styles.
In its efforts to provide opportunities for local artists, and to show visitors local art, Northwind gears its “Showcase 2026” program to artists living in Jefferson, Clallam, Mason, Kitsap and Island counties. But the application is open to other regional artists outside of those counties.
In any case, all art must be hand-delivered to and picked up from Jeanette Best Gallery in Port Townsend.
Right now at Northwind’s gallery, “Showcase 2025” is on view, presenting 14 makers, including painters, sculptors, a photographer, a ceramicist and a couple of mixed-media artists. They come from Port Townsend, Port Angeles, Chimacum, Whidbey Island and Quilcene.
Visitors can see and purchase their work during regular gallery hours from noon to 5 p.m. Thursdays through Mondays, and any time online on NorthwindArt.org.
