PORT ANGELES — When we can laugh at something, it loses its power to control us: So believes Kevin Kling, playwright, author, radio commentator and storyteller.
He’ll give the 25th annual Forest Storytelling Festival’s pre-fest workshop, titled “Laughter and Story as Archetype and Healing,” this Friday.
While opening us up to new ways of looking at life, Kling said, laughter can help us break an old pattern. An “aha” moment: That’s the prize. Kling will explore what leads up to that moment during this workshop from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
The cost is $50 for Friday’s program in the PUB conference room, room J-47 at Peninsula College, 1502 E. Lauridsen Blvd.
This is a prelude to the Forest Storytelling Festival, which showcases storytellers from across the continent, all at the Port Angeles campus.
The event promises more workshops, a story slam, a story swap, solo performances by the featured tellers, and concerts including the free Inspirational Tales event Sunday.
