BAINBRIDGE ISLAND — The Key City Public Theatre was recognized with three awards at the 2025 Sound on Stage Awards at Bainbridge Performing Arts.
The Port Townsend theater company earned awards for Best Original Music Composition and Achievement in Sound Design (Musical) for its production of “Wild Man of Wynoochee.”
The music for the musical was composed by Linda Dowdell and Jessica Welsh while the sound design was created by Taylor Thomas Marsh.
Geoffrey Simmons was awarded the Performance by a Lead Actor in a Play for his portrayal of Leontes in the Key City production of Shakespeare’s “The Winter’s Tale,” adapted and directed by Denise Winter.

The “Wild Man of the Wynoochee” received three other nominations: Best Original Production, Linda Dowdell and Jessica Welsh; Best Direction in a Musical, Brendan Chambers; Performance by a Lead Actor in a Musical, Casey Raiha.
The theater company also garnered nominations for Best Original Production for its production of “Carmelita” by Ana Maria Campoy and for Best Theatre Experience.
