PORT TOWNSEND — The Jefferson County Historical Society will host behind-the-scenes tours of its research collection from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
The tours will be at the society’s research and collections center, 13692 Airport Cutoff Road, Port Townsend.
Visitors will see rarely exhibited artifacts, including historic newspapers, taxidermy specimens and the original Haller Fountain sculpture.
Gary Wessen, a local archaeologist, will be on hand to offer informal artifact identification.
The free guided tours will start every half hour.
