PORT TOWNSEND — John Miller will present “Songs from Around the Camp Fire” at 7 p.m. Thursday.
The concert, part of the free Candlelight Concert series at Trinity United Methodist Church, 609 Taylor St., Port Townsend, also will be simulcast on KPTZ FM 91.9 and stream at www.trinityumcpt.org.
The concert is free, although a donation of $15 per person is requested for The Recovery Cafe, “a community predicated on the belief that everyone deserves love and belonging. And, in fact, that meaningful belonging to community is essential for recovery.”
Miller, a folk guitarist, will be perform one set with no intermission that will include songs from James Taylor, Neil Young, The Eagles and Harry Chapin.
Miller said he has been hooked on the acoustic guitar since first hearing the Cat Stevens’ album “Teaser and the Firecat” while in seventh grade.
Although Miller works in information technology, he has served as music director on spiritual retreats and played in a variety of informal settings.
Miller is a station engineer at KPTZ 91.9 Radio Port Townsend and is one of the producers of Candlelight Concerts.
