Cookies, waste reduction and reading to dogs are on tap today on the North Olympic Peninsula.

Bingo night

FORKS — West End Sportsmen will host bingo night at 7 p.m. Thursday.

The fundraiser will be at the club at 243 Sportsmen’s Club Road.

Proceeds will benefit the hunter education program and the annual Kids’ Fishing Day.

Books and Cookies

CLALLAM BAY — Fifth- and sixth-grade students can meet for cookies, book conversations and hands-on activities from 2:45 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. Thursday.

Studium Generale

PORT ANGELES — Susan Hamilton will present a lecture and slideshow on beadwork at 12:35 p.m. Thursday.

Hamilton’s presentation is part of the Studium Generale series in the Little Theater at Peninsula College, 1502 E. Lauridsen Blvd.

Hamilton will discuss her own beadwork and introduce the Ravenstall weavings by Kay Field Parker that will be on display at the college’s House of Learning.

The Studium is free and open to the public.

Zero waste class

PORT TOWNSEND — Lily O’Shea will present “Start your Zero Waste Journey!” from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday.

The free waste reduction class is at the Food Co-op Annex, 2110 Lawrence St.

O’Shea, a senior at Port Townsend High School, will focus on ways to prepare for grocery shopping to avoid unnecessary single-use plastic packaging.

PORT HADLOCK — Kids and families are invited to Read to Rover between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Thursday.
