Woman charged with child rape, animal abuse offered plea

PORT ANGELES — A plea offer has been extended to Deanna Marie Wilson, a Port Angeles woman charged with child rape and animal abuse, her attorney said.

Wilson, 41, is charged with third-degree child rape, four counts of first-degree animal cruelty, possession of and dealing in depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct and furnishing liquor to minors.

Her attorney, John Black, told Clallam County Superior Court Judge Christopher Melly that he had received an offer from the state.

“I’m going to need a little bit more time on it,” Black said in Friday court hearing.

“I want to double check on the offender score and that sort of thing. It’s a complex case, especially the way it’s been charged.”

Port Angeles police alleged that Wilson raped a 15-year-old boy after providing alcohol to a group of minors in her home last October and had sexual contact with her pet dog twice last year.

She was also alleged to have taken photographs of the alleged crimes with her cellphone.

Wilson has maintained her innocence.

Melly granted Black’s request for a two-week continuance and rescheduled the resolve/reset hearing for May 5.

“There’s a lot on the line here for Ms. Wilson,” Black said.

Wilson, who was arrested last Oct. 12, is being held in the Clallam County jail on $100,000 bail.
