Woman arrested following man’s death in Cape George

JSCO: Incident occurred during domestic dispute

PORT TOWNSEND — A 23-year-old Port Townsend woman has been arrested for investigation of second-degree manslaughter after she reportedly fatally stabbed her 29-year-old boyfriend in Cape George.

Celinda Kaitlyn Marie Ladue was booked at 4:55 a.m. Thursday, according to Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office records.

The man who died has been identified as John Rowland of Port Townsend.

Undersheriff Andy Pernsteiner said Ladue might make her first appearance in Superior Court on Monday.

The sheriff’s office said the stabbing took place just after 10 p.m. Wednesday during a domestic altercation at the couple’s residence in the 200 block of Johnson Avenue.

Jefferson County 9-1-1 received a call about 10:18 p.m. and sheriff’s deputies responded along with personnel from East Jefferson Fire-Rescue, Pernsteiner said.

The man was found unresponsive with a stab wound to his torso, Pernsteiner said. Life-saving measures were unsuccessful and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Port Townsend Police Department detectives are assisting with the investigation along with the State Patrol crime lab, Pernsteiner said.

“It’s an ongoing investigation now,” he said. “We still have the crime scene to go through.”
