Woman accused of trafficking to minors arrested for assault

PORT ANGELES — A 35-year-old woman who said she identifies as a 15-year-old boy has been arrested on malicious mischief and assault charges.

Amanda H. Dorrough, 35, of Port Angeles was booked into Clallam County jail Saturday evening for investigation of second-degree malicious mischief and third-degree assault, both Class C felonies, plus fourth-degree assault and resisting arrest, a gross misdemeanor and misdemeanor, respectively.

A Class C felony is punishable by up to five years in prison and/or $10,000 in fines.

Dorrough was scheduled to appear in court Monday ahead of her Feb. 12 trial on one count of delivery of controlled substances to a minor. She pleaded not guilty to those charges — a Class B felony — in May.

Her conditions of release include no contact with any of the alleged victims as well as anyone younger than 18. She also is barred from coming within 500 feet of any school district property or 200 feet of any state, county or city parks.

While she was booked in May, Dorrough told jail staff that she identifies as a 15-year-old.

Prior to her arrest, she told the arresting officer that she feels like teenagers “understand” her better and that she “identifies” better with teenagers. The previous week she told an officer that she identifies as a teenage boy.
