Sequim man investigated for rape involving teens

PORT ANGELES — A 21-year-old Sequim man appeared in Clallam County Superior Court on Tuesday accused of having sex with two teens — ages 16 and 14 — earlier this month.

Nikolas R. Sanchez remained in the Clallam County jail Tuesday on bail of $50,000 for investigation of second-degree rape, third-degree rape of a child and furnishing liquor to minors.

Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Steven Johnson said his office is considering charges for second-degree rape, third-degree rape of a child and furnishing liquor to minors.

Charges are expected to be filed Thursday.

A 16-year-old girl told deputies that on May 7, Sanchez had sex with her without consent and that he began having sex with her 14-year-old friend after she pushed him off, according to an affidavit for probable cause.

The two girls and Sanchez each told deputies he had provided alcohol for them and he eventually took them to a house where the three of them had sex.

Sanchez told deputies both girls said they were at least 18.
