Port Hadlock woman in custody for drug investigation

PORT HADLOCK — A 47-year-old Port Hadlock resident is in custody for investigation of multiple counts of delivery of a controlled substance, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.

Summer Irene McCauley remained in the Jefferson County Jail on Tuesday with $50,000 bond set.

The case began this spring when the Olympic Peninsula Narcotics Enforcement Team (OPNET) said it used a confidential informant to purchase meth and fentanyl pills from McCauley on multiple occasions.

She was arrested on July 6 by OPNET detectives and detectives and deputies contacted her in the 100 block of Sentinel Firs Road and took her into custody without incident.

After a search warrant was obtained for McCauley’s residence and vehicle, officers found and seized about 300 suspected fentanyl pills, about 4 grams of suspected methamphetamine, about 4 grams of suspected fentanyl, and a small number of suspected psilocybin mushrooms, the sheriff’s office said.

A loaded revolver also was located in the vicinity of the suspected controlled substances, law enforcement officers said.

The Olympic Peninsula Narcotics Enforcement Team (OPNET) is a multi-agency team dedicated to the enforcement of narcotics laws in Clallam County and Jefferson County.
