Port Hadlock man charged with firearms violations

PORT HADLOCK — A Port Hadlock man was charged with 13 counts of unlawful possession of a firearm and three counts of possession of an unlawful firearm.

Frankie Bocook, 39, was charged with the 16 firearms violations Thursday during his first court appearance, according to Julie St. Marie, chief deputy prosecutor for Jefferson County.

Bocook remained Saturday in the Jefferson County jail on $150,000 bail.

Bocook’s arraignment will be Friday, March 24, St. Marie said.

Bocook was arrested Thursday after deputies and detectives at the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office investigated information they received Wednesday and Thursday from two sources.

The tips alleged that Bocook was in possession of firearms, short-barreled rifles and police gear, according to a news release from Detective Brett Anglin of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies and detectives obtained a search warrant for Bocook’s Port Hadlock residence Thursday, Anglin said, and found 16 firearms at the residence, three of which were non-compliant short-barreled rifles.

Bocook has a previous conviction of domestic violence and is not allowed to possess any firearms, according to Anglin.
