Port Angeles woman jailed for investigation of assaulting two police officers

PORT ANGELES — A 40-year-old Port Angeles woman was jailed over the weekend after she allegedly assaulted two city police officers.

Alicia N. Hernandez was booked into the Clallam County jail for investigation of two counts of third-degree assault, according to the Port Angeles Police Department. She was still being held as of Sunday afternoon.

At about 4:45 p.m. Saturday dispatchers received a series of 9-1-1 calls from a cellphone in which the caller did not speak to dispatch.

Dispatchers heard sounds of an argument and of an active disturbance and traced the call to the area of the 1000 block of East Third Street, police said.

While officers were investigating at the home, they ordered Hernandez not to enter the residence. She then attempted to push past officers to get in, police said.

She allegedly struggled with officers, kicking one in the chest and scratching another in the face before she was arrested.

Police also are recommending a fourth-degree assault, domestic violence and obstructing a law enforcement officer charge for Hernandez.
