PORT ANGELES — Officers arrested one of two brothers they say led Port Angeles police on a foot pursuit Sunday afternoon.

Jesse T. Barclay, 27, was booked into the Clallam County jail on a felony bench warrant issued after he allegedly didn’t show up to drug treatment last month, according to court documents.

His brother, Cayde Barclay-Paxton, 22, escaped police Sunday afternoon despite an hour-long search after he disappeared in the ravine at the end of the 1400 block of East First Street, said Cpl. David Dombrowski.

Police received a tip at about 12:05 p.m. that someone had spotted the younger brother, who has a Department of Corrections warrant, at the Holiday Lodge, 1414 E. First St., Dombrowski said.

When police arrived, someone answered the door and “wasn’t too eager” to let police in.

Dombrowski said the person then went into the room and yelled “cops,” prompting both brothers to jump out the back window of the room into the alley, he said.

Officers found Barclay within about 10 minutes in a backyard hiding behind a tree on East Second Street and arrested him without incident, he said.

Police searched the ravine for about an hour but could not find Barclay-Paxton.

Barclay-Paxton was last seen wearing black shorts and red shoes. He is 6-feet, 1-inch tall, weighs about 200 pounds, and has green eyes and brown hair.

Members of the public are advised to call 9-1-1 if they see Barclay-Paxton.
