PORT ANGELES — A new trial date has been set for a Port Angeles man who has been charged with second-degree murder.
Clallam County Superior Court Judge Simon Barnhart set a trial date on Friday for Feb. 9, 2026, for Marquise Hagans-Moore, who has been charged in the death of Rebecca Rule-Cowles.
Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Steven Johnson estimated the proceedings would last about two weeks. The trial was moved from the previously scheduled date of Oct. 17.
Hagans-Moore, 27, pleaded not guilty to killing Rule-Cowles 51, who was found dead of an apparent gunshot wound on Sept. 28, 2024, in a residence they shared in the 300 block of Whidby Avenue.
The murder charge includes domestic violence and firearm enhancements.
Hagans-Moore remained in the Clallam County Jail on Friday in lieu of $500,000 bond.
