Molestation trial set for Sequim man

PORT ANGELES — A Sequim man charged with molesting a 14-year-old child and sending sexually explicit text messages to the girl has pleaded not guilty to four felony counts.

Michael Douglas Millsap is charged with one count of third-degree child molestation and three counts of communication with a minor for immoral purposes. He entered a plea Friday.

A trial is scheduled for Dec. 12 in Clallam County Superior Court.

The Clallam County Sheriff’s Office alleged that Millsap drove a girl he knew to a Joyce residence, provided with her with alcohol and molested her as she slept July 8.

The alleged victim provided authorities with text messages that she and Millsap had exchanged between May 21 and July 12, Deputy Amy Bundy wrote in the affidavit for probable cause.

Millsap was released from the Clallam County jail after his initial court appearance Sept. 25.

A pretrial status conference in the case is set for Nov. 16.
