JOYCE — A man previously convicted of burglarizing Port Angeles businesses is among those arrested as part of the investigation of a burglary at the Blackberry Cafe in Joyce.
Sean Vince Della, 28, was booked into the Clallam County jail for investigation of second-degree burglary and malicious mischief and is also being held for a Department of Corrections warrant, according to the Clallam County Sheriff’s Department. He was being held in the jail as of Sunday.
Deputies responded at about 6:20 a.m. last Thursday to a burglary at Blackberry Cafe after the business owner arrived to find her business alarm sounding and the outside door pried open, according to a news release.
Damages to the business, phone lines and electrical box were estimated at about $500.
Witnesses in the area reported to deputies they saw three people, two men and one woman, fleeing the area at about 1:30 a.m. when they heard the alarm sounding.
The three suspects fled down Agate Beach Road and were suspected to have headed to some trailers parked in the area, according to the sheriff’s department.
Deputies arrested Della and Jacob Marcel Parker, 24, for outstanding warrants. Another woman was interviewed then released. Parker was being held at the jail Sunday.
Deputies say once the alarm sounded at Blackberry Cafe, Parker and the woman left a vehicle parked and began walking away with Della following behind them.
Once a neighbor called out asking the three what they were doing, Parker, Della and the woman ran to a trailer on Agate Beach Road, deputies say.
Della previously pleaded guilty to burglarizing Spotlight Tanning & Apparel at 715 E. First St, in Port Angeles. He also pleaded guilty to two counts of second-degree burglary and single counts of first-degree theft, second-degree attempted burglary and heroin possession last year.
Parker is already facing charges for theft of a firearm that had been stolen during a burglary on April 9, 2015, court records say.
Deputies applied for a search warrant in November and found Parker in possession of a stolen safe and three firearms, including one listed as stolen, court records say.
A Port Angeles police investigation tied Della to the Dec. 9, 2014 theft of Athlete’s Choice at 215 W. First St., the Jan 31, 2015 burglary of Sabai Thai restaurant at 903 W, Eighth St., and the Feb. 1, burglary of Spotlight Tanning & Apparel.
The case, along with other possibly related cases, are still under investigation, according the the Sheriff’s Department.
