Man arrested on firearms, drug and stolen property charges

PORT ANGELES — A Clallam County man has been arrested on stolen property, firearms and drug charges following a month-long investigation by the Olympic Peninsula Narcotics Enforcement Team.

Jeremy R. Anderson, 40, was booked into Clallam County jail last Wednesday for investigation of two counts of first-degree unlawful possession of a firearm, two counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and one count each of possession of a stolen firearm and first-degree trafficking in stolen property. He remained in the Clallam County jail on Monday in lieu of $100,000 bail.

An investigation began in February into unlawful possession of firearms and trafficking stolen firearms after OPNET discovered Anderson allegedly had sold two firearms to a Clallam County resident who later placed them on consignment with a local firearms dealer, according to a news release.

The firearms previously had been reported stolen from Yakima and Anchorage, the release stated.

Anderson is a convicted felon, so he is prohibited from possessing a firearm.

OPNET detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Anderson for two counts of unlawful possession of a firearm and two counts of trafficking in stolen firearms.

Anderson was arrested without incident following a traffic stop in east Port Angeles on March 3, the release stated. He was armed at the time with a semi-automatic pistol.

A search warrant was obtained for the motorcycle Anderson was riding when he was arrested. The search revealed about 139 grams of methamphetamine, about 48 grams of fentanyl, several digital scales, baggies and money.
