OPNET arrests Port Townsend man

Authorities: Investigation finds heroin, cocaine, methamphetamine

PORT TOWNSEND — The Olympic Peninsula Narcotics Enforcement Team said it found illegal drugs valued at more than $32,000 when it served a warrant near Port Townsend on Wednesday.

Members of the Olympic Peninsula Narcotics Enforcement Team (OPNET) arrested Lorentz A. Monsaas, 62, on a warrant.

He was booked into the Jefferson County Jail for investigation of two counts of delivery of heroin, two counts of delivery of methamphetamine, one count of delivery of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a bus stop and one count of unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, according to a press release.

Monsaas was arrested at the Four Corners Olympic Mobile Home Park on state Highway 20 south of Port Townsend.

OPNET served the warrant at 6 a.m. without incident along with law enforcement officers from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and the Port Townsend Police Department.

Detectives said they found 142.5 grams of heroin, 109.1 grams of cocaine, 41.4 grams of methamphetamine, five suboxone strips and two oxycodone pills.

The total estimated street value is $32,947, according to the press release.

The investigation began after an informant provided information to OPNET. That led to several covert purchases of heroin and methamphetamine from Monsaas, according to the press release.
