Law enforcement investigates ‘suspicious’ death in Diamond Point

DIAMOND POINT — Multiple law enforcement agencies were seeking more information Friday after finding the body of a deceased woman in a Diamond Point home Thursday evening.

Clallam County Sheriff Brian King said Friday afternoon: “There’s nothing really much more. We haven’t established a cause of death. The coroner is still on the scene. We are working our way through the scene. It’s still a pretty active scene.”

According to the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office, deputies went to a residence in the Diamond Point area for a welfare check at about 8:15 p.m. Thursday. They found the as-of-yet unidentified deceased person.

“Due to the suspicious nature of this death, the Washington State Patrol Crime Scene Response Team was called out and is currently processing the scene,” sheriff’s office representatives said in a press release Friday morning.

Detectives with the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office are investigating this death with the assistance of detectives from the Sequim and Port Angeles police departments, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, Clallam County Coroner’s Office and the Olympic Peninsula Narcotics Enforcement Team.

In addition, the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue team has been deployed to assist with searching for evidence.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Sheriff’s Office at 360-417-2262 or leave an anonymous tip on the Sheriff’s website at clallam.net/cnmaster-c/nwformeml.php.

Additional information will be released as it becomes available, law enforcement officials said.
