Hearing for woman charged with child rape, animal cruelty delayed

PORT ANGELES — A court hearing for a Port Angeles woman charged with child rape and animal cruelty has been delayed for the third time in five weeks because of a pending psychiatric report.

Deanna Marie Wilson’s resolve or reset hearing was rescheduled for April 7 in Clallam County Superior Court on Friday.

Port Angeles police alleged that Wilson raped a 15-year-old boy and had sexual contact with her pet dog last year and photographed the alleged crimes with her cellphone.

Wilson, 41, has pleaded not guilty to third-degree child rape, four counts of first-degree animal cruelty, possession of and dealing in depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct and furnishing liquor to minors.

She remained Saturday in the Clallam County jail on $100,000 bail.

Wilson was evaluated by a Seattle psychiatrist in early January, courts papers said.

Court hearings that were scheduled for Feb. 10, March 3 and Friday were delayed because Wilson’s attorney had not yet received the results of the psychiatric report.

Wilson signed a waiver of speedy trial Feb. 10. That waiver will expire May 31.
