Forks man arrested on investigation of drug possession

SEQUIM — A Forks man was arrested on investigation of drug possession after he was pulled over on his motorcycle for driving with a suspended license, the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office said.

Richard Dennis Miller, 39, was booked into the Clallam County jail on Tuesday night on one count of second-degree driving while license suspended and one count of possession with intent to deliver controlled substances.

He was being held Thursday in lieu of $25,000 bail.

Miller made a preliminary court appearance on Tuesday and is scheduled to be back in court at 1 p.m. today for the filing of charges.

A Clallam County Sheriff’s deputy from the Olympic Peninsula Narcotics Enforcement Team spotted Miller on a motorcycle about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Sequim area and that he was driving with a suspended license, according to the probable cause statement filed Wednesday in Clallam County Superior Court.

Miller was arrested for investigation of driving with a suspended license at a gas station in Carlsborg, the probable cause statement said.

After the arrest, the deputy discovered $686.70 in Miller’s front pocket.

The deputy also found seven baggies of suspected controlled substances and multiple hypodermic needles.

The controlled substances later were found to be 1.68 ounces of methamphetamine, 1 ounce of cocaine and 1.8 ounces of fentanyl, according to the probable cause statement.
