Clallam County man sentenced for indecent exposure in Jefferson

PORT TOWNSEND — A Sequim man has been sentenced to nearly five months in jail and two years probation after pleading guilty to multiple counts of indecent exposure, Port Townsend Police Chief Michael Evans said.

Richard E. Deno, 35, pleaded guilty July 11 to two counts of indecent exposure with a victim 14 or younger and single counts of indecent exposure with a victim over 14 and communicating with a minor for immoral purposes.

148 days in jail

He was sentenced in Jefferson County District Court to 148 days in jail and 24 months probation, officials said.

As a part of his probation, Deno will be required to undergo a psycho-sexual evaluation, provide his DNA for a law enforcement database and register as a sex offender for the next 10 years, Evans said in a news release.

Deno was arrested June 6 after a Port Townsend police investigation.

Police in May received two reports that a male driver had pulled to the side of a road to ask for directions then exposed himself and drove away.

Victims

The victims included a young woman and two 10-year-old girls, Evans said.

“In another incident, the victim was a 9-year old girl selling lemonade in front of her house,” Evans said in a news release.

Port Townsend police sought help from community members in locating the suspect.

Police arrested Dino at his Clallam County residence with help from Clallam County sheriff’s deputies, Evans said.
