Carlsborg woman arrested on selling, possessing drugs

PORT ANGELES — A Carlsborg woman was arrested outside the Clallam County Courthouse for investigation of possessing and selling drugs and third-degree driving with a suspended licence, authorities said.

Laura Lynn Quinones, 24, was stopped in the courthouse parking lot Dec. 1 after appearing for a status hearing in a pending case, Olympic Peninsula Narcotics Enforcement Team officials said.

Detectives found 5 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine, 6 grams of suspected heroin, pills, $317 in cash and “items consistent with the sales of controlled substances” such as baggies and digital scales in the 2000 Volkswagen Passat that Quinones was driving, OPNET said.

“Quinones made statements against her penal interest in regards to the sale of controlled substances that had been investigated earlier that morning in the Carlsborg area of Clallam County,” Sheriff’s Sgt. John Keegan said in a news release.

Quinones posted a $15,000 bail bond Monday.

She pleaded not guilty Tuesday to possession with intent to manufacture or deliver heroin, possession of methamphetamine and methadone, third-degree driving with a suspended or revoked licence and contempt of court.

A trial is set for Feb. 21.
