Sequim accepting applications for tourism sustainability grants

SEQUIM — The city of Sequim is accepting applications for tourism sustainability grants through Friday, April 15.

The grants of up to $5,000 are available to nonprofit tourism-related organizations located within the boundaries of Sequim School District.

The grants, which are funded by lodging tax funds, must be used for tourism marketing; marketing and operations of special events and festivals to attract tourists; supporting the operations and capital expenditures of tourism-related facilities owned or operated by a municipality or public facilities district; and supporting the operations of tourism-related facilities owned or operated by non-profit organizations.

Application guidelines are available on www.sequimwa.gov under News and Announcements.

Organizations may submit applications by email to bhanna@sequim wa.gov or by U.S. mail to Barbara Hanna, Communications and Marketing Director, City of Sequim, 152 W. Cedar St., Sequim, WA 98382.

Applications will be reviewed by the city’s Lodging Tax Advisory Committee at a special meeting April 20. Recommendations will be forwarded to the city council for consideration at its April 25 meeting.
