The soothing bath soaks you need in your life

Prune-y fingers aside, bath time is basically bliss. The hot water feels absolutely heavenly – and for good reason – soaking in it causes our body temperature to increase and our blood vessels to dilate.

What does this actually mean, you ask? Basically a boost in circulation and a decrease in joint pain. Ideal. But though the health benefits are impressive, let’s be real; most of us are there to relax.

So, if you’re looking to upgrade the ambience, allow us to suggest a few of our favourite bath soaks – get ready for your bathroom to smell like a spa and your skin to feel softer than ever. Happy soaking.

  1. Sadly at the moment I dont have a bath. My main bathroom was pulled apart for renovation at Christmas time and all it has at the moment is a working toilet. Hopefully I will get it sorted by the end of the year.

  2. I do like baths but have felt a bit guilty when having one in recent months (because, you know, water restrictions & climate change & all). That said I'm not well atm & have been feeling like having a bath, so I think I'll have one sooner rather than later. Have a whole lot of Scrubba Body bath salts/soaks in my stash, so will whip one of those out.

  3. I have balanced Dead Sea salts that get used in my Magna swimming pool so I have stock piles of them in the pool house/garden house(&cat house!). These bags of salts aren't really directly from the Dead Sea but they are a balanced compilation of a copy of what the Dead Sea contains so it's good for skin/hair/muscles and it's relaxing it swim in.

  4. The past few days I have been thinking of having a long soak in the bath. I don't have any of the products listed here but there are a few in my bathroom. I need to use them all up before I move as so many new places do not have a bath at all. I guess I can always just go to my daughter's place for a bath!
